Privacy policy

How Red Mum handles the small amount of information we deal with. Plain version: we keep it minimal and we do not sell anything about you.

This policy explains what information Red Mum collects when you visit redmum.ie, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to hide behind. If anything here is unclear, get in touch.

Who we are

Red Mum is an independent Irish editorial publication. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@redmum.ie.

What we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. When you visit the site, our hosting and any analytics we use may record standard technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location and the pages you view. This helps us understand what is useful and keep the site working.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, so we can reply and, where relevant, follow up on a suggestion or correction.

Cookies

Red Mum uses only the cookies needed to run the site and, where enabled, to measure traffic in aggregate. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then work less smoothly.

How we use information

We use the limited information above to operate and improve the site, to respond to messages, and to keep our shortlists accurate. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers that help us run the site, or where we are required to by law.

Links to other sites

Our guides link out to the official websites of the businesses we feature and to authoritative sources. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Irish data protection law you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain uses. Email hello@redmum.ie and we will help. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page. Any material change will be reflected here rather than announced separately.
